Garden Structures

Beautiful and sunny days can be few and far between in the UK. And so, when the sun makes her appearance, we all want to escape to our own corner of outdoor heaven; the garden.

Here at A1Class, we pride ourselves on curating bespoke, comfortable and affordable outdoor spaces to be enjoyed year-on-year.

Outdoor Storage and Security

Storing those tools and a lawnmower inside the house isn’t practical for most people, so a garden shed offers a safe and secure option. We can design and build a variety of outdoor storage options for your bespoke requirements.

We also offer assembly services if you have your heart set on a pre-made shed or storage solution. If you are keen cyclists, we can create secure bike storage; keeping your bikes safe, not to mention free from damp and rust too!

Bespoke Garden Structures

Whether you are looking for bespoke and built to your exact specification, or for us to assemble your purchase, we can meet your individual needs. can even build you a base for whatever garden structure you choose. We offer you a free estimate and 10% discount to all new clients. Looking for a Pergola, Pagoda, Arbour or Hot tub Canopy?

We build all of those too. So what’s the difference between these garden structures? A Pergola or a Pagoda? Generally speaking, a Pergola would be a supporting structure using columns.

The roof would be an open design created using beams or a lattice style, flowers or trailing plants are trained to partially cover the roof structure to provide ‘some’ shelter from the sun. Used traditionally to provide a covered walkway, you will often see them in hot countries. They pave the way to walk in the shade between a hotel complex and the accompanying beach.

A Pagoda tends to have a permanent roof to shelter from the weather, come rain or shine. It would generally boast a tiered roof and is usually somewhat oriental in design. They are popular for use in meditation and housing sacred objects.

Since their popularity has increased in England, along with Zen-style gardens, they are fast becoming a ‘must-have’ garden structure and are often large enough for small outdoor Yoga and Pilate’s meets.

Lastly, the Pergoda is kind of a mix between the two. They are typically used as an outdoor seating area, sheltered to enable dining al fresco or entertaining guests. You may also find them at outdoor wedding venues where couples can exchange their vows undercover.

An arbour is generally a smaller sized garden structure. It will usually consist of a bench with a small apex roof. Some prefer an open design covered with plants or flowers for shade and décor.

A hot tub canopy/housing is quite simply a timber gazebo. A sturdy and resilient garden structure is always going to score higher in the protection stakes than a pop-up option. It will provide protection from sun and rain and will withstand the wind where a more temporary structure may not. In keeping with the prescribed building sizes and uses, some garden structures don’t require planning permission.

Decking Garden Structures

Let’s talk decking!  You may think about decking and think of slatted wooden boards, and in part, you would be right. If a timber deck is what you are looking for to set your garden apart then look no further.

Whatever shape or style your garden is; we will build decking to house your garden structure, hot tub, garden furniture, garden room, etc.

Becoming ever more popular due to its life span and very low maintenance is composite decking. The outlay may be a bit pricier than its timber companion, but it will last and last. It will look beautiful year-on-year with minimal upkeep. Offered in a range of colours, from a minimalist natural-looking wood colour, or the very in-style grey tones.

We guarantee there will be one that’s just right for your garden. This decking comes in a hollow core or solid variety to suit different budgets. Contact us for more information or to see some samples and to book a free no-obligation.

Fencing & Gates Garden Structures

In addition to garden structures, we also supply and fit all types of timber fencing and gates. The garden fence is an important part of any landscape, as it frames everything within it. Ensuring you have a sturdy, well-built and attractive fence is something we strive to achieve.

A1Class can’t promise that we will always be best on price and often a fencing contractor will be able to beat us on cost. However, something we never compromise on is quality.

Our fences and gates are built to last using quality materials. Whether you want a bespoke gate or simply require us to fit a shelf-bought one – we are happy to oblige. Quite regularly we can help remotely. Simply send us the sizes and a few photos by WhatsApp or email, and we will provide you with an estimate faster than waiting for a site survey.

We also supply and fit garage gates/doors and windows. So, whatever style fence or gate you are interested in, get in touch to discuss your requirements.

Decking and new fence fitted

Mark was very professional and provided insightful advice in regards to the fence and decking. I had to have the complete back of my garden fence (that was broken) removed and he also installed the posts. The decking that was provided is of good material and he had to shape it to the stonework that is already laid in my garden. I have also been told how to take care of it. I recommend Mark for any type of carpentry work!

Mark supplied and fitted a new roof to my brick built shed

Front the beginning there was nothing but professionalism, upon calling Mark we arranged a suitable time that we both could make, as I often work late he came round one evening to discuss what I wanted and gave me different option to consider. I was only thinking of having a flat roof fitted at first but Mark suggested that if he was to fit a pitched roof then I would have more headroom but more importantly for me, it gave me more storage space which is what I was running out of. Mark was very considerate about the items in my shed, he covered them all with tarpaulins to protect them. Fantastic.
